After ongoing interest in our Herbal Care Bag Program from 2020-2022, The Compassion Access Project shifted goals in hopes of offering ongoing access to herbal medicine and supplements for the Durham, NC community and surrounding area. In 2023, we excitedly launched the first Community Self Serve Herb Stations throughout the city in spaces that are safe and inviting to BIPOC and LGBTQIA + community members.
With the generosity of Gaia Herbs,, we have collaborated to receive donations of herbs and supplements to stock the Community Self Serve Herb Stations. Gaia Herbs website offers valuable information on all of their products including herb and supplement uses, suggested safe dosages, and contraindications and cautions.
All items at the Community Self Serve Herb Stations are available for Pay What You Can Donation with an encouragement to share items with family and friends. Donations are used by The Compassion Apothecary to make single herb tinctures, herbal teas, and other care items to be added to the stations for community availability and use.
