The Compassion Acupuncture Project was founded by acupuncturist Shea D Broussard in April of 2019. It is our privilege and responsibility to care for members of our community.
With the organic expansion of our mission and outreach, we shifted our name to The Compassion Access Project: a direct platform to increase access to medicinal herbs, self care items, and healthcare resources for people who hold historically marginalized identities.
The mission of The Compassion Access Project is to lift and prioritize BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA2S+ and Neurodivergent community members in Durham, NC and surrounding areas by providing:
~ Access to high quality herbal medicine to support mental and physical health needs ~ Items and education to promote self care and mindful healing ~ Access to medicinal herbs via Community Self Serve Herb Stations & Pop Up Acupuncture Clinics
The Compassion Access Project was 100% funded by community donation from April 2019 until July 2020. We recently were awarded our first grants and are still wonderfully supported by individual donors.
